Modern Slavery Policy

Jack Buck (Farms) Ltd are growers, packers and raw material suppliers of fresh produce to the supermarkets, wholesalers, processors and the food service. Jack Buck Farms has been farming in the parish of Moulton for 5 generation and Robin & David Buck still having a keen interest in the farm. We currently employee 17 staff across the farm, farming over 1600 acres of vegetable, flower and arable crops.

We continue to learn more about the risks of Modern Slavery and take a zero-tolerance approach to the issue of modern slavery and human trafficking and seek to ensure all Jack Buck Farms staff are observant of any suspicious or concerning activity that may be linked to slavery or human trafficking.

Raising awareness throughout our business is important and we do this through company inductions. We also have stronger together posters and information around the site in multi-language formats. We have attended a number of the Stronger Together courses and conferences to keep ourselves fully briefed of developments.

In 2017, Jack Buck Farms made the decision to set up and operate its own staffing agency, Socius, in conjunction with Naylor Flowers, a neighbouring business. This way we know that all employees are paid correctly and treated fairly and we jointly have full control of all aspects of their employment. Socius is a member of the Association of Labour Providers (ALP).

Jack Buck Farms are members of Sedex and have undergone a Smeta audit and are Grasp certified.

What will we do if we find modern slavery?

To date, we have not found, or been made aware of, any slavery or human trafficking incidents in our business. We will fully investigate any issue, and act promptly to engage the appropriate UK authorities.
